BACKGROUND

Appointed Chief Executive in February 2018, Ben is responsible to the Board for the leadership and strategic direction of the Association.

With a career spanning over 30 years, Ben’s career in Housing began as a Positive Action Trainee with the London Borough of Greenwich, learning about housing & estate management. He has since risen through the ranks, and held a variety of leadership roles within the Housing sector, including three years’ experience as an independent Housing professional, supporting organisations through change, performance improvement and service transformation.

Ben has acted as a Mentor on the Career Opportunities for Ethnic Minorities (COFEM) mentoring programme, developed to address issues such as organisational politics and culture, skills and knowledge for career development for black and minority ethnic staff in Housing.

Most recently, Ben was the Deputy Chief Executive of Westway Housing Association, overseeing top quartile performance in the sector in many areas.

Ben has also served on the Boards of a number of Housing organisations and Charities.

David Eastgate

Head of Finance & IT Consultant

BACKGROUND

David is an experienced senior executive and finance professional. He has previously held senior roles at The Hyde Group and Leonard Cheshire Disability and is now working as a freelance consultant specialising in corporate strategic planning and financial advice.

David is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and a Corporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.

David is currently a member of the Board and Audit Committee of the London South East Education Group as well as being Vice Chair of London Skills for Growth.

Andrew Furtek

Head of Operations

BACKGROUND

Andrew has worked in the housing sector for over 28 years and has a wealth of experience in housing management, resident involvement, regeneration and community development. Andrew began his career working in housing management then branched out to cover resident involvement and community development. Andrew has worked for a number of local authorities and housing associations, most recently at Circle Housing Mole Valley where he was assistant director of community development.

Andrew has a track record of improving services, developing people and teams and managing change. He has successfully and worked in partnership with agencies and local communities to deliver projects such as a teenage pregnancy project, that made a real difference to young peoples’ lives and futures.

Andrew is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and is passionate about delivering excellent services to residents, supporting people to achieve their potential and making a positive difference to local communities.
