Supported Services

Supported Housing

We run a number of Supported Housing schemes providing accommodation based support for young, vulnerable mothers providing a place to live whilst helping them through the early stages of motherhood. We help them develop a range of life skills to live safely and independently and encourage them into training and education, enabling them to move on and sustain a tenancy in permanent accommodation.

Floating Support

Additionally we provide floating support to young people and teenage parents already living in the community, in temporary accommodation. These young people require varying levels of support to enable them to maintain their independence in their own home.

Support planning

With the aid of a structured, individual centred support plan we focus on the following areas for support:

    • Housing Services
    • Developing parenting skills
    • Accessing and maintaining education, training and employment
    • Health and wellbeing
    • Healthy relationships

Our support aims to enable independence and reduce social exclusion by building individuals confidence and self-esteem and preparing them to live successfully in and contribute to their local communities.

Ekaya does not accept self referrals so all potential residents must be referred by one of the following agencies:

• Local Authority Homeless Persons Units
• Local authorities Special Housing Units
• Statutory agencies
• Voluntary organisations working in partnership with Local Authority Homeless Persons Units
